Update (August 31, 2026): we use Google Analytics and Redistats to measure Site traffic, and Google AdSense to show ads. Details are in sections 4 and 5.
This policy applies to the website at policechiefwiki.com and any pages we host under that domain (the “Site”). It does not cover the Police Chief mobile game, app stores, Discord servers, or other third-party services you might use alongside the game.
1. Who we are
The Site is an unofficial fan wiki for the Police Chief mobile game. We are not the game’s developer or publisher. For questions about this policy:
- Email: [email protected]
- General contact: [email protected]
2. What this site is (and isn’t)
The Site is mostly static reference pages: upgrade tables, hero pages, guides, and similar content. We do not offer user accounts, profiles, in-site messaging, or a members area. You can read the Site without signing up for anything here.
3. Information we may process
3.1 Information you send us on purpose
If you email us (corrections, questions, legal requests), we receive whatever you put in that message: your email address, the body of the message, and any files you attach. We use that to reply and, if needed, to fix content on the Site. We don’t sell those messages and we don’t turn them into marketing lists.
3.2 Technical data from normal browsing
Like almost every website, our hosting and delivery setup may automatically process technical data when your browser requests a page. That typically includes things such as:
- IP address
- Date and time of the request
- Page URL requested and referring URL (if any)
- Browser type, device type, and general OS information
- Approximate location derived from IP (city/region level at most)
- Success or error codes for the request
We use this kind of data to keep the Site online, debug errors, block abuse (spam, scraping that knocks the server over, etc.), and understand which pages are actually useful. We do not use it to build a personal profile of you as a player of Police Chief.
3.3 What we don’t collect on purpose
We do not intentionally collect:
- Your in-game account ID, password, or recovery codes
- Payment card details (we don’t sell the game or process purchases)
- Precise GPS location from your device
- Government ID numbers or similar sensitive identifiers
- Content from your device camera, mic, or contacts
Please don’t send game passwords or payment details by email. We will never ask for them.
4. Cookies and similar technology
The core Site content is static and does not require an account cookie to read pages. Small files or local storage entries may still be set by us or by providers we use:
- Strictly necessary — needed for security, load balancing, or basic site function.
- Preferences — we store a few choices in your browser’s local storage so they persist between visits, such as light/dark theme and UI language. We don’t have a login, so this stays minimal.
- Analytics — we use Google Analytics and Redistats to see which pages get traffic. Google Analytics may set cookies (and similar identifiers) in your browser. Redistats does not set visitor cookies. We use these tools for aggregated stats about the Site.
- Advertising — we use Google AdSense to show ads that help pay for the Site. AdSense and related Google advertising cookies (and similar identifiers) may be used to measure ad performance and, where Google allows it, to personalize ads on this Site and other sites in Google’s network.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block everything, the Site should still load; a few optional features might not remember your choices, analytics may be limited or blocked, and ads may be less relevant or fail to load.
5. Analytics, advertising, and third-party services
Running a public site involves third parties for hosting, DNS, content delivery, security, analytics, and advertising. Those providers process technical request data under their own terms so they can deliver pages, protect their networks, report usage, or show ads.
5.1 Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-5FM7402H92),
operated by Google LLC, to understand which pages are read, roughly where
traffic comes from, and what kinds of devices people use. Google may
collect identifiers and technical data — including cookies, IP address,
browser and device information, pages viewed, and referring URLs — and
process that data on Google’s systems, which can be outside your country.
We use this for aggregated Site stats so we know what to improve. We do not use Google Analytics itself to place ads; advertising is handled by Google AdSense, described below.
Google’s own policies apply to that processing:
You can opt out of Google Analytics in your browser with Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on. You can also block cookies or use tracking-prevention features in your browser or OS.
5.2 Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-9432947007120676),
operated by Google LLC, to show ads on the Site. Google may collect
identifiers and technical data — including cookies, advertising IDs, IP
address, browser and device information, pages viewed, and referring URLs —
and use that information to serve, measure, and (where Google allows it)
personalize ads on this Site and on other sites and apps in Google’s
advertising network.
Ads may be contextual (based on the page) or personalized (based on other signals Google has). Clicking an ad takes you to the advertiser’s site; their privacy policy then applies.
Google’s own policies apply to that processing:
- Google Privacy Policy
- How Google uses cookies in advertising
- Google Ads Settings — turn off personalized ads
You can also visit the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out or the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out. Blocking cookies or using a tracking-prevention browser may still show ads, but they are less likely to be personalized.
5.3 Redistats
We also use Redistats as a lightweight visit counter. It loads a tracking script and sends the page URL and referrer. According to Redistats, it does not set visitor cookies and does not store raw IP addresses. See the Redistats privacy policy.
5.4 Other providers
Examples of the other kinds of services a site like this uses:
- Web hosting / container platform
- DNS and CDN providers
- TLS certificate issuers
- Email providers when you write to us
When you leave our Site — for example, following a link to an app store, Discord, or another wiki — their privacy policies apply, not this one.
Embedded images or assets loaded from third-party domains (if any) may allow those domains to see that a request came from a page on our Site. Where we can, we host images ourselves to keep that limited.
6. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- Serve pages and keep the Site available
- Fix bugs, broken links, and wrong game data
- Respond to email you send us
- Monitor abuse and protect the Site
- Understand aggregate traffic so we know what to improve
- Show ads that help pay for hosting and running the Site
- Meet legal obligations if we’re required to
We do not sell email addresses or visitor lists, and we do not rent them. We do not use your messages to train public AI models as a product feature of this Site. We do use Google AdSense, which can use data about your visit to show ads — including ads personalized by Google. Some privacy laws treat that kind of advertising as a “sale” or “share” of personal information. You can limit personalized ads in Google Ads Settings.
7. Legal bases (where that language applies)
If you are in a region that requires a “legal basis” for processing personal data (for example the EEA/UK under GDPR-style rules), we generally rely on:
- Legitimate interests — running a public fan reference site, securing it, and understanding aggregate usage in a limited way
- Contract / steps at your request — when you email us and we need the content of that exchange to reply
- Legal obligation — if we must retain or disclose information to comply with law
- Consent — where we ask for it. We do not currently show a cookie banner; analytics and advertising described in this policy load with the page. If we add a consent flow later, this section will be updated.
8. Sharing
We may share information only in these situations:
- Service providers who host or deliver the Site, handle email, provide security, measure traffic, or show ads (including Google Analytics, Google AdSense, and Redistats) — only as needed for those jobs
- Legal requirements — if we’re required by law, court order, or government request that we believe is valid
- Safety — to protect the Site, our users, or others from fraud, abuse, or security incidents
- Business transfer — if the Site is ever transferred as part of a project handoff, relevant records may move with it under this same kind of policy
We do not sell personal data to data brokers.
9. Retention
- Server / access logs — kept for a limited period typical for hosting (often days to a few months), unless we need longer for security investigations
- Analytics — Google Analytics retains data according to the retention period configured in our Google Analytics account and Google’s own policies. Redistats retains detailed hit data for a limited period (typically about 30 days) and aggregated stats for longer
- Advertising — Google retains AdSense and related advertising data according to Google’s own policies
- Email — kept as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up, then deleted or archived in the normal course of mailbox management
- Published content — game tables and guides stay on the Site until we update or remove them; that content is about the game, not about you as a visitor
10. Security
We use reasonable measures appropriate for a static fan site (HTTPS, controlled deploy access, basic server hardening). No method of transmission or storage is perfect. If you believe you’ve found a security issue on policechiefwiki.com, email [email protected] with details — please don’t publicly dump exploit steps that put visitors at risk.
11. Children’s privacy
The Site is a general game reference. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children for accounts (we don’t have accounts). If you’re a parent or guardian and think a child sent us personal information by email that shouldn’t be kept, contact us and we’ll delete it from our inbox where we still have it.
12. International visitors
The Site may be hosted or delivered through servers in more than one country. If you visit from outside the country where a server sits, your request data may be processed across borders so the page can load. Analytics and advertising data processed by Google may be transferred to and stored in the United States and other countries where Google operates. By using the Site, you understand that this kind of transfer is part of how the public internet works for a global audience.
13. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Ask whether we hold personal data about you
- Request a copy, correction, or deletion of that data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing was based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with a local data protection authority
For a static wiki with no accounts, many of these requests mainly apply to email correspondence and any log data still in our control. Write to [email protected] and describe what you need. We may ask you to confirm control of the email address involved so we don’t hand data to the wrong person.
You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser at any time, use browser or OS tracking-prevention features, turn off personalized ads in Google Ads Settings, or install Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on.
14. Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control
Browsers sometimes send “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signals. We do not currently change Site behavior based on those signals. You can still limit analytics and personalized ads by blocking cookies, using a tracking-prevention browser, visiting Google Ads Settings, or installing Google’s Analytics opt-out add-on. If we later add a consent or opt-out control on the Site, this section will be updated.
15. Links to other sites
Guides may link to Discord, official game pages, app stores, or other external sites. We’re not responsible for their privacy practices. Check their policies before you create accounts or share personal information there.
16. Changes to this policy
When we update this page, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top. Bigger changes (for example new tracking tools or additional ad networks) will get a clearer notice on this page. Continued use of the Site after an update means the new policy applies to later visits.
17. Contact
Privacy questions or requests:
- [email protected]
- General: [email protected]
- Website: https://policechiefwiki.com
If you’re writing about a legal claim or formal notice, put enough detail in the subject line that we can find it quickly (for example “Privacy request” or “Legal notice”).
